Your Family's Safety is Our Priority
Often times, our customers are unsure about the difference between their windshield and the rest of the glass in their vehicle. Your windshield is made of laminated safety glass which consists of two pieces of glass with a thin layer of vinyl between them. This special construction is designed to offer optimum safety in a crash. Your windshield supports the structural integrity of the roof. It also provides the brace for your air bags.
When a small object strikes your windshield, often only the first layer of the glass is damaged. This is what makes the windshield rock chip repair possible. If the damage is small, it may be repairable. A Boulay Auto Glass trained installer may be able to repair the damage without replacing the entire windshield. A rock chip repair preserves the original factory seal and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Most side and rear windows of your vehicle are made of curved tempered glass. As the name implies, the glass has been tempered. It is put through a special process where it is heated, then rapidly cooled. This tempering process makes the glass up to 10 times stronger than single pane glass. The side and back windows of your vehicle do not shatter into large sharp pieces of glass. It breaks into very small dull-edged pieces.
The employees of Boulay Auto Glass have over 15 years of auto glass experience. We pride ourselves on setting standards in the industry for both customer service and safety awareness. Because of our experience, several local auto dealerships have placed their trust in Boulay Auto Glass and refer their valued customers to us for their auto glass needs.
